How a Baby Monitor Works

Nowhere does the term “multi-tasking” apply more than to the parent of a baby or toddler. With the demands of life and household, it just isn't possible to be ever-present with your child, as much as you'd like to. But thanks to technology, it is possible to maintain a vigilant eye, or ear, over your precious little one while being in another part of the house or garden, or even away from home altogether.

Weddings are about many things: Romance certainly, with the (hopefully long lasting) union of man and woman in either sacred or secular happy matrimony. A sense of occasion therefore cannot help but be strongly involved in the drama of the day, however humble the surroundings may be. It is also about the coming together of two families, the making of new friends, the sweet sadness of parents who see the final evidence that their little girl or boy is that no longer, and of course, the free drinks at the reception.

Okay, so everybody knows how a baby stroller works. It’s got handles, and you push it, right? Toss in a baby, and you’ve got a party.

But I bet most of you didn’t know that there is a stroller for all occasions, from a quick trip to the store to an all-day hike. There are strollers for newborns, strollers for toddlers, and even strollers for twins, triplets, and quadruplets!

I awoke one morning,
Looked outside and found
Snowflakes falling

On the ground

Can you imagine?
My surprise
I screamed with delight
You could hear my cries

I found my snowsuit
As fast as I could
I love these snow days
This would be good

I opened my mouth
And stuck out my tongue
They taste like cold sprinkles

Congratulations! You now have a happy and healthy new baby boy or girl to bring home. Hopefully the labor and the birth were not too long or arduous, and the initial physical effort is over. So now the mental effort begins; to keep your new arrival safe and sound in the home environment.

I think our parents still marvel at all that we have to offer our children; between technology and zillions of brand names, we have choices to give our kids that they’d never dreamed of giving us. I always shake my head when I hear the stories of how babies used to be transported in the back seat in their little bassinets or “Moses” baskets, just resting on the vehicle seat without any restraints. Or how the babies could easily be comforted by the mother while driving because, after all, they weren’t belted in anywhere.

If you have ever been involved in a wedding, chances are you’ve probably had a hand in the decorating, organizing, or any of the million little things it takes to make a wedding go off perfectly.

One of the things you may have helped with is the wedding invitations. Although generally these are left for the prospective bride and groom to take care of, anyone can be in on the planning and mailing of the wedding invitations. This is especially true if the prospective bride and groom are busy fighting with caterers and wrestling with wedding photographers.
